This shows the internal piston mechanism. The finial twists, advancing the piston. The piston has a double-seal, as shown in the detail. This particular pen has a single lead center thread, later ones have a triple-lead, and look better than this one :-)
On this one I use a chrome Baron clip
The cap posts pretty well
The centerband is made from 303 stainless steel, the outer surface is polished while the decorative cuts are left 'brushed'
