Another Black and white one |
The acrylic acetate from Berea in emerald green with titanium gold HW looks extremely stunning. But the finial problem is real and not a photo effect... |
Photo games: Only the pen is 'real'. Background, shadow, ripples - all digitally generated! The wood is crosscut spalted sycamore from - where else - BB |
What did BB sell me??? A clever sycamore imitation made out of chocolate! And I never collected the chips |

A minor variation on the Regency that in my eyes has a big effect |
In particular the cap finial goes better with the straight cap barrel than the round one |
Finial variations side by side |

This is how the Damascus steel arrived |
I could not get the pattern out, part of it is due to the tight spacing of the very thin layers, part of it probably was my etching technique |
I polished off the pattern and made - the Thermos pen! |
The Thermos pen open |

Had a change of heart, and re-etched the pen. It's Damascus, so I'll show the pattern, albeit not such a great one! Also changed the center - cap overlaps pen. |
Also recessed the center coupling, and switched to a black titanium clip |
I've been thinking about a rattle-snake skin pen ever since I saw Jay post one... but using a large tube. I did not make the blank, I got it from Dave Baldwin |
Same pen, closed |
