Ray burns in the decorations directly using the cutters ground from washers and bolts

I enjoyed Ray's session so much, I attended his next session on pressure turning

For the third rotation, I attended the session with Nick Cook

Nick uses every opportunity to cover fundamentals and explain them simply

Nick's session was on gift items that are simple and quick to make

Using mainly a skew, Nick fashions a honey dipper

As a production turner, it doesn't take Nick long to complete it

Nick then starts a snowman ornament

After quick work, again with only a skew, it is ready for decoration

A closer look at the finished snowman

The added decorations are three dimensional

Some of Nick's high volume items are bottle stoppers ...

tops ...

baby rattles ...

and garden dibblers

A look at the Instant Gallery which has been completely set up during the morning

The Yahoo Penturners Group pen display has the best spot in the house

The work ranges from miniatures to the largest bowls and platters I have ever seen

The work on display is from every corner of the world and reflects different styles and materials

The Instant Gallery is open for the three days of the symposium
