John Solberg's comments about the making of the pen. "The pen was made as a one piece 7mm out of black Lucite material from the Pipemakers Emporium in Phoenix. It was the first one piece I have built out of Lucite and it became quite a challenge as the material becomes very flexible as it gets thin."

The finished base.
The pen and base concept created for Jim Lambert by John Solberg and Kurt Hertzog. The pen made in Texas by John and the base made in NY by Kurt. They meet up for the first time in NY for photos and shipment to Jim Lambert in AL.
Finito. Happy Birthday Jim Lambert from John Solberg and Kurt Hertzog

Glenn came up with the design and the overall theme. He also made the tool handle and the tool itself, a nice small skew. Scott did the shop pencil.
The gift is a turning tool and shop pencil made to resemble an old parchment scroll.
Here are some pictures of the collaborative gift that Glenn McCullough and Scott Greaves made for Emory McLaughlin. His birthday is September 1st.
Rich made the CB, Kevin the pen, as a present for Scott Greaves. This is a copy of a pen Scott once made for a publication... it was supposed to arrive a few days before the real collab pen...
